With 76 mm spindle clearance, 230 mm chuck diameter and a significantly extended turning length of 900 mm, the completely redesigned turn-mill center makes a significant leap in performance. Naturally, Index also offers various automation options for the Traub TNX220 turn-mill center.

Special mention should be made of the new Index MBL 76 bar loader, which has been adapted to the new machine design and the new turning spindle diameters and is characterized by its excellent damping properties. It is purely electrically operated, i.e. completely free of hydraulics, and impresses with its ergonomic, scaffold-friendly design and high precision. Last but not least, it achieves faster changeover times than the previous MBL 65. For flange or shaft-type parts, either an integrated gantry loader with double gripper and/or the new iXcenter robot cell in size L are available. A Mitsubishi TX8i-s V8 has been adapted as the control system, which can be operated in a user-friendly manner via the iXpanel index cockpit solution.

The most important features of the Traub TNX220:

  • Sophisticated work area concept and variable machining options for turning lengths up to 900 mm
  • Identical main and counter spindles with 76 mm spindle diameter, torque 207 Nm (40% ED) at 6,000 rpm
  • Chuck max. Ø 230 mm
  • powerful motorized milling spindle with proven Y/B quill kinematics for complex 5-axis milling operations
  • two lower tool carriers, each with 12 stations VDI30 or 15 stations VDI25
  • High thermal and mechanical stability
  • second set-up station for the tool magazine
  • wide range of automation options
