Powerful tool for motion control

Composer2 is the new tool from Elmo Motion Control that allows machine designers to easily develop, test and implement their own control algorithms in the company's Platinum drives and multi-axis motion controllers.

SiL (Software in the Loop) enables simulations at drive and system level, which significantly accelerates the development process of the system algorithm. It is particularly noteworthy that the tool is offered free of charge.

Integrated as a module in MathWorks Simulink Real Time Workshop, Composer2 contains a library of blocks that can be used to quickly and easily generate motion control algorithms. The compiled code is then cross-compiled and can be loaded directly onto the Platinum servo drives or the Maestro motion controller platform. Composer2 code is then tested and executed in the real-time environment. The already performance-optimized blocks from the library generally simplify the design and development of algorithms.

With the Composer2 tool, the user generates code that can be executed in real time and at the same time allows access to a large number of advanced interfaces of the Platinum series products from Elmo Motion Control. Especially for complex kinematics with multiple axes, such as robots, Composer2 significantly simplifies design, configuration, simulation, testing and implementation. Access to sensors of all kinds also helps here. Composer2 also offers the development of custom communication protocols for each host, including real-time communication via serial interfaces, while shortening the production cycle between software and hardware and the time to market.
