Nils Petersohn, Managing Director at Stüken, sees three trends. "Firstly, the demand from our customers for support with thermoforming design in the development phase has increased. Secondly, 'virtual try-outs' or testing in the early development phase have become more important. Thirdly, we are seeing an increasing need for function validation."

Data generated using the finite element method (FEM) is intended to help customers with this. Geometric data enables virtual testing in the customer's CAD assembly. Forming data can provide the customer with information on which raw material is best suited for the component.
