Sheet metal processing
New threading tools
As soon as internal threads are produced in sheet metal working, the tool of choice is the thread tap.
The forming tools use the flowability of the processed material to groove the internal thread. This not only eliminates the need to clean chips, it also means that they cannot be dragged along on the production lines of the sheet metal processors. This property, combined with long tool life and process reliability, is what sets the thread taps in the Duramax family from Bass apart.
Special geometries allow them to be used in a very wide range of materials, including steel and stainless steel, but also brass and copper. From the thread forming unit to conventional machining, the thread taps from the southern German manufacturer are suitable for every application.
