Feasibility assessment for gear skiving
Thanks to its affiliation with Gleason, Kisssoft has a partner for specific manufacturing expertise. For example, the manufacturability for power skiving can now be evaluated in Kisssoft (module ZA8).

Especially for design solutions with little space for a tool run-out (for example, if the shaft shoulder is very close to the pinion), Kisssoft makes it easy to check whether the gear skiving method is suitable for a particular application. The most important tool parameter, the number of tool teeth, can be set automatically. A special report with workpiece and tool data can then be generated. This can be transmitted to Gleason if required, making data exchange between the designer and the tool supplier simpler and less error-prone - in the spirit of a holistic work process.
