Category 4 - 1st place: Fully automated energy supply

With the first market-ready wireless charging system for industrial electric vehicles, Wiferion took first place in the warehouse, order picking and intralogistics category.

The manufacturer presents the etaLINK 3000 inductive fast charging system as the world's first series-ready, contactless battery charging system with an efficiency of 93 percent. This energy solution enables in-process charging of the lithium-ion batteries of automated guided vehicles (AGVs), industrial trucks and mobile robots. In this way, charging processes can be flexibly integrated into intralogistics processes. The result is fully automated charging processes and an increase in vehicle availability of up to 30 percent.

Wiferion's patented charging technology consists of a stationary transmitter unit with wallbox and charging pad as well as receiver electronics, which are installed in the AGVs and FFZs via plug-and-play. The charging pads can be freely integrated into the logistics process using floor mats, for example. When a vehicle drives up to the charging point, the charging process starts automatically in less than a second. It does not matter from which direction the charging station is approached. An integrated CAN interface transmits data on the battery status and energy level to the fleet management system.

etaLINK is compatible with all available battery systems, as the charging characteristic is freely programmable by the user. While cable or track-based charging technologies severely limit the degree of automation or require cost-intensive interventions in the infrastructure, this system can be installed quickly and easily at neuralgic points in the logistics and production environment using the charging pads. Loading and unloading processes or short downtimes in cycle production can be used for in-process charging.

If the warehouse layout changes, the charging stations can be flexibly repositioned The time-consuming replacement of battery troughs is no longer necessary. Large-scale battery charging zones are no longer required. Intermediate charging keeps the energy level of the vehicles at a constantly high level 24/7. This means that battery capacities can be reduced. The decentralized energy supply through in-process charging meets the requirements for a fully automated, maintenance-free energy supply and has the potential to become the new standard in intralogistics.

The system has protection classes IP 65 and 68 and is optimally protected against dust and water. This means that it can even be used in outdoor areas. As a system provider of charging and storage technology, Wiferion also enables the retrofitting of existing forklift fleets with its etaTRAY battery tray. pb
