Solid carbide milling cutter
Walter: Broadly positioned in hard machining
With the Advance line of ISO H milling cutters MC183, MC187, MC281, MC480, MC482, MC388 and MC089, Walter is launching seven new solid carbide milling cutter families that are specially tailored to the requirements of hard machining. According to the manufacturer, the mini and multi-flute milling cutters, corner/slot milling cutters, radius copy milling cutters and high-feed milling cutters are particularly suitable for ISO H materials up to 63 HRC. The milling cutters are said to achieve a long tool life and very good surface quality, for example thanks to the company's own WB10TG grade. A special, performance-enhancing geometry also enables high stock removal rates.
The wide-ranging program is designed to open up extensive application possibilities for the user. The Advance milling cutters can be used just as flexibly for large to small component dimensions as for various milling strategies: for example HPC roughing, HSC finishing, high-feed milling or for machining 3D contours with the radius copy milling cutters. According to Walter, their special properties make the high-end milling cutters for hard machining particularly interesting for users with medium batch sizes and high quality requirements. As well as for users who want to use an economical tool with very good performance at a very good price-performance ratio. Typical areas of application include tool and mold making as well as general mechanical engineering. sw
