Clever solutions for sensitive gripping
Innovative systems and exciting world premieres? That's what visitors will find at productronica in Munich from November 18 to 21. In Hall B3 at Stand 301, vacuum specialist Schmalz will be showcasing efficient and future-oriented handling systems - especially for sensitive components.
In Munich, Schmalz is presenting a real innovation for vacuum automation with the new material HT1-ESD: the specialist has further developed its tried-and-tested high-temperature material HT1 and has now made it ESD-compatible. This makes the material suitable not only for the gentle handling of sensitive goods such as display glass, but also for sensitive electronic components such as circuit boards or semiconductors. The dissipative resistance range guarantees a controlled discharge, the high temperature resistance up to 170 degrees Celsius and the very good ozone and abrasion resistance ensure a long service life and also enable cleanroom-compatible applications. The material will be used in various suction pad families. These include flat suction pads, bellows suction pads, oval suction pads and flow pads.
The FSTImc spring plunger grips sensitive workpieces such as battery foils. It is equipped with a very soft damping spring for reliable operation. This compensates for uneven component heights and curvatures. When handling components of different sizes, the use of integrated flow valves is recommended in order to reliably close unused suction points. For porous workpieces, flow resistors that can be integrated accordingly take over this function. This gives users flexibility in a small installation space. Thanks to its compact design, the FSTImc also fits into confined production environments and its construction protects it from dirt and mechanical influences. A vacuum-guiding profile or a rigid hose connection for load-free movement supply it with negative pressure.
New vacuum and pressure switches in cube form
With the electronic vacuum and pressure switches from the VS-V/VP-W-D series, Schmalz is presenting a compact solution for measuring and monitoring vacuum and overpressure in handling and automation systems in Munich. The robust cube-shaped housing with integrated TFT display visualizes all process data even in demanding environments with dust, dirt and moisture. All parameters can be transparently input and output via the IO-Link interface, minimizing downtimes and making processes more efficient. With their sophisticated mounting concept, the switches can be flexibly integrated into panels, on walls or top-hat rails. The IP65 protection rating and brass sockets ensure reliable continuous use in industrial environments.
Intelligent control for modern production systems
Another clever solution is the SCTMi mini compact terminal, which allows users to automatically handle airtight and slightly porous materials. The series is available with up to 16 blockable SCPMi ejectors and with common communication interfaces (IO-Link, PROFINET, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP). At productronica, Schmalz will be presenting a new variant with interlocked valves that divides a central vacuum generation system into different suction zones. Ejectors can be replaced quickly and easily. The SCTMi models already have an integrated power blow-off function as standard. With their lightweight and compact design, they can be mounted flexibly and can withstand high accelerations on the axis.
