Thread former with long service life
With the TC430 Supreme, Walter is presenting a new HSS-E-PM thread former for ISO-P materials. It is available both with and without lubrication grooves, with axial and radial as well as without internal cooling and is suitable for blind and through-hole threads.
The company has revised the tool geometry and equipped it with more polygons. The substrate is also new. Thanks to special pre- and post-treatment, the torque has been reduced by around 30 percent despite more polygons. The new, multi-layer HIPIMS coating increases tool life in all ISO-P materials. Other properties include high strength of the formed thread, stable tool design against the risk of breakage, no chip formation, no blending and good surfaces. Thread forming is used in mechanical engineering, the automotive sector and the energy industry, among others.
