Solid carbide drill bit
Precisely cooled Maximize productivity
With the DC175 Supreme, Walter is presenting its first solid carbide drill with precision cooling. It is designed for machining ISO materials of groups M and S.
Precision cooling directs the cooling lubricant very close to the main cutting edge, thereby increasing the service life of the drill. To achieve this, Walter has developed a special face geometry: with a stable, straight main cutting edge, plenty of chip space in the center and with cooling channels positioned close to the cutting edge.
One third longer service life
In use at the customer's premises, tool life increases of around 30 percent could be achieved. In addition to the cooling and geometry, the new Walter grades WJ30RZ and WJ30RY also contribute to this. The highly wear-resistant TiAlSiN-based coating applied using HiPIMS coating technology is designedas a complete coating for 3× and 5×Dc (grade WJ30RZ) andas a head coating for 8×Dc (grade WJ30RY). The DC175 Supreme is available for diameters from 3 to 20 mm.
