Drilling, plunging and milling with just one tool
HB Microtec introduces three-edged solid carbide end mills Actionmill Inox Groover for machining tough, corrosion-resistant and heat-resistant steels as well as tough titanium alloys.
In the medical technology and aerospace industries, components made of alloys that are predominantly difficult to machine - Ti6Al4V, Inox, Inconel - have to be manufactured. The Actionmill Inox Groover end mills from HB Microtec in Tuttlingen make this much more productive, economical and reliable. These three-edged, coated solid carbide end mills can (drill) vertically and plunge into ramps at an angle of 70°. They are also suitable for milling in grooves and pockets as well as on the circumference. For this purpose, they are designed with a cutting edge at the head that extends over the center.
Precisely prepared cutting edges and groove surfaces
The cutting edges and the surfaces of the flutes are specially prepared in order to be able to machine particularly tough, heat-resistant and tough materials, such as corrosion-resistant steels, nickel-based and titanium alloys, reliably. The precisely rounded cutting edges reduce the cutting forces and stabilize the cutting edge. This prevents chipping on the cutting edges and thus ensures maximum process reliability. The particularly smooth flutes, in conjunction with the sophisticated high-performance α-Inox coating, help to ensure that tough, adhesive chips do not stick and are easily removed from the cutting edge. Thanks to the carefully coordinated cutting edge and flute pitch as well as the universal helix angle, the end mills are equally suitable for roughing and finishing.
Up to ten times the service life
Thanks to their tough ultra-fine grain carbide, the end mills can withstand changing loads without any problems. The coated solid carbide end mills are also available with an optional internal coolant supply. This feeds the coolant through fine nozzles. These are arranged in a ring on the shoulder between the cylindrical clamping shank and the fluted cutting edge area. This ensures that the coolant reliably reaches the cutting edges under all cutting conditions - even in narrow and deep grooves and pockets. As a result, these drilling, plunging and peripheral milling cutters achieve four to ten times the tool life of similar tools previously used.
As standard and customized
The innovative solid carbide end mills Actionmill Inox Groover from HB Microtec are available as standard in the version with internal coolant supply (IKZ) with a diameter of 1 to 6 mm with 1 to 18 mm usable cutting edge lengths (3xD drilling and plunging depth), without IKZ up to 8 mm diameter and 24 mm usable cutting edge length. Inch versions are also available. The Tuttlingen-based tool specialist manufactures milling cutters with customer-specific dimensions on request. With these high-quality, trend-setting solid carbide end mills, precision components in industries such as medical technology, aerospace and process engineering can now be manufactured much more economically, reliably and productively.
