ZVEI Power Tool Association: Board of Directors confirmed in office
The general meeting of the ZVEI Power Tool Association has confirmed the previous board in office. Chairman Matthias Krauss (Mafell) and Deputy Chairman Horst Garbrecht (Metabowerke and President of the EPTA - European Power Tool Association) were re-elected for a two-year term.
"The power tool industry is experiencing strong, continuous growth. Compared to the previous year, manufacturers achieved a 9% increase in turnover in 2018," says Matthias Krauss. The drivers are the digital transformation, which is also affecting the construction industry, and the switch from corded to battery-powered tools in the professional segment. "Digital innovations for the construction site of tomorrow, as well as sustainable construction and renovation with renewable raw materials, will open up many new opportunities for our industry in the coming years," continues Krauss.
However, the industry is concerned about the current mood on the European and international stage. "The European Union is going through turbulent times with the threat of Brexit. The global economy is also clouded by increasing protectionist tendencies," adds Horst Garbrecht.
