Wago Appoints Björn Twiehaus as New CEO

Effective September 15, 2026, Björn Twiehaus (48) will assume the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Wago Group. The family-owned company, headquartered in Minden, is thus placing its trust in a manager with international experience in the electronics and automotive supply industries. Twiehaus succeeds Jürgen Koopsingraven, who is currently serving as interim CEO in addition to his role as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Wago has long been more than just the inventor of spring-cage terminal technology. From its origins as a specialist in electrical connections, the company has evolved into an international provider of connection and automation technology. With the appointment of new leadership, Wago intends to continue on this path: the company aims to further drive international growth, innovation, and business development.

The new CEO brings a broad range of experience to the role. Most recently, Björn Twiehaus served as CEO of the Marquardt Group, a globally active, family-owned mechatronics specialist. Prior to that, the graduate engineer spent more than two decades in various leadership roles at the automotive supplier Forvia Hella. Starting in 2020, as a member of the executive board there, he was responsible for the Electronics division and drove profitable growth in line with the megatrends of electromobility, autonomous driving, and connectivity.

Twiehaus studied mechanical engineering in Osnabrück and also earned a degree in economics.

For Wago, this personnel decision also signals continuity. “First, I would like to thank Jürgen Koopsingraven, who has successfully led Wago with great dedication in his dual role as CEO and CFO and will now be able to focus fully on his duties as CFO again,” says Christian Hohorst, shareholder and member of the Wago Group’s advisory board.

At the same time, Hohorst emphasizes the company’s long-term perspective: “As a family-owned business, we think in terms of generations, not quarters. This stability, along with our close ties to our employees and customers, is what makes us strong. We are very pleased to welcome Björn Twiehaus, a leader who shares our values as a family-owned business and combines deep technical expertise with experience in international growth.”

With Björn Twiehaus, the Wago Group has completed its executive leadership team. The future CEO is approaching his new role with a clear focus on customers, markets, and technology: “Wago stands for quality, reliability, and a pioneering spirit in connection and automation technology. I look forward to shaping the next chapters of this journey together with our approximately 9,000 colleagues worldwide and to further developing Wago with foresight, staying close to our customers and markets.”
