New Chief Financial Officer
Dr. Achim Degner to Become the New CFO of the Röchling Group
The Röchling Group will have a new CFO as of July 6, 2026: Dr. Achim Degner will assume the position at the Mannheim-based, internationally active plastics specialist. He succeeds Evelyn Thome, who left the company on June 30, 2026, at her own request.
Gregor Greinert, Chairman of the Röchling Advisory Board, is pleased with the appointment: “I am very pleased that, in Dr. Degner, we have gained a man with extensive financial expertise and leadership experience in international industry. His vision and ability to get things done were decisive factors in our selection. We extend a warm welcome to him and look forward to working with him.”
Degner, too, is optimistic about his new role: “It’s an exciting challenge to help shape the financial management of a company as diverse as Röchling. I look forward to contributing my experience and working with the teams to further strengthen the foundation for the company’s profitable growth.”
The new CFO brings more than 30 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, including over 25 years as a chief financial officer. His career has included stints at Lenze, Hoberg & Driesch, and Chiron-Werke, where he held positions on the executive board and in management.
The change in leadership at the Finance Department had been in the works for some time: Evelyn Thome herself had requested an early termination of her contract last year to ensure a smooth transition. This was due to health issues she had faced the previous year.
Greinert regrets her departure but also expresses understanding for her decision: “With Evelyn Thome’s departure, we are losing an extremely experienced and valued leader who has combined stability and creativity with deep expertise. We respect her decision and thank her for her extraordinary dedication.”
During her nearly 26 years at Röchling, Thome played a key role in shaping the Group’s financial stability and structural development. Particularly noteworthy achievements include establishing the Group’s status as a corporation, building a robust international financial organization, and professionalizing key management and controlling tools.
