Hummel Expands Its Plant in Denzlingen
Hummel AG is beginning the expansion of its plant in Denzlingen. The 35-million-euro project includes new production facilities, a nickel-plating plant, and a fuel recovery system.
On July 10, Hummel kicked off the planned expansion of its German facility in Denzlingen with a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony. Former owner Helmut Hummel, current owner Holger Hummel, and board members Bernd Hotze and Patrick Kemper performed the groundbreaking ceremony together, thereby signaling the company’s continued growth. The ceremony took place as part of the Hummel Summer Festival and was celebrated together with the employees.
“The plant expansion is a clear commitment to our location in Germany and an important step toward further growth,” explained Patrick Kemper. “With this investment, we are strengthening our production capacity and laying the foundation to continue meeting our customers’ high standards in the future.”
The construction project has a total investment of 35 million euros and includes two new buildings as well as the installation of a modern lubricant recovery and recycling system throughout the entire plant. This system recovers and recycles the lubricating and cooling oils required for metal processing from the exhaust air.
Once completed in 2027, one of the newly constructed factory buildings will house the new electroplating facility. This facility will be equipped with resource-efficient heat and wastewater recovery systems. In addition, the turning and milling shops will be relocated from their current site in Waldkirch to Denzlingen, where they will be consolidated into a modern, centralized production facility.
