Frequency inverter M1
More efficiency and safety
The new M1 frequency inverter from Omron is designed to improve production processes. At Gruppo Romani, an Italian manufacturer of porcelain stoneware tiles, the M1 frequency inverters were used to modernize a press feeding system.
The modernization enabled the porcelain and ceramics experts to improve production and ensure a consistent supply of raw materials to the press machine. The solution was implemented by Bluengineering, an Omron system integrator, and met the group's stringent safety requirements. The integration of this EtherCAT-based technology provides a more flexible machine design, saves space and enables configuration via Sysmac Studio. The M1 inverter can integrate both hardware- and EtherCAT-based safe torque-off functionalities. This ensures highly adaptable development of safe applications. In addition, the native EtherCAT fieldbus is seamlessly integrated into the Sysmac development environment, enabling shorter commissioning times and the provision of fast, pragmatic diagnostic tools. Gruppo Romani thus benefits from an application that raises safety standards and minimizes production downtime. The integration of the M1 inverter into the manufacturing process is an example of how a well-designed press feeding system can facilitate the precise feeding of material to the press.
