Expansion of the modular drive system
ECI 80 drive with high performance for automation
When selecting a drive, users have a wide range of requirements, for example in terms of drive power, gearbox designs, reduction stages, control or connection technology. In order to be able to cover even higher outputs in automation, ebm-papst has expanded its existing ECI drive series to include size 80 and will be presenting it at Logimat.
The new BLDC motors based on the internal rotor principle in safety extra-low voltage (24/48 VDC) with a diameter of 80 mm and a rated power of up to 750 watts can be individually assembled into a complete drive system by combining different modules. Housed in a robust metal housing, it meets the requirements of protection class IP54 as standard. The system includes planetary gears with different reduction ratios as well as encoder and brake modules. If, for example, the application requires a holding brake based on the closed-circuit current principle, a module with a spring-applied brake can be added to the drive unit. Hall sensors for rotor position detection are currently integrated for operation with a remote drive controller, and further electronic modules that can be integrated, such as speed or position controllers with optional bus interface, are to follow.
Industry-compatible plugs facilitate integration into the application. The radial right-angle plug with bayonet lock can be rotated and engages automatically. An axial plug module is available on request for space-critical applications; a prefabricated cable connection is also possible. The compact drives are particularly suitable for use in intralogistics, in conveyor, storage and sorting systems, in medical technology for adjusting operating tables or patient lifts and in battery-powered mobile vehicles (AGV, AMR).
