Industrial switch

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Security and failure protection

KTI presents the KGS-1260 industrial switch with four dual fiber optic ports (100/1000 Mbit). These allow redundant ring structures to be set up and ensure reliability. The option of connecting two redundant power sources also minimizes the risk of failure.

The two models KGS-1260/G and KGS-1260/I can also be used under conditions with vibrations, centrifugal forces, collisions or high accelerations. The Automatic Laser Shutdown prevents eye injuries at the fiber optic port and ensures safety when used in potentially explosive areas. There is also reverse polarity protection, and the relay output enables alarm signals to be sent to external terminal devices. Both KTI models have a supply range of 12 to 60 V.

In addition, the KGS-1260/I is certified in accordance with IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613.
