For Profinet networks
Lapp presents switches for industrial data communication
At Hannover Messe 2019, Lapp will be presenting further models from the Etherline Access series, this time also for Profinet networks.
Lapp, manufacturer of integrated cable and connection technology solutions, also offers switches for industrial data communication. The company continues to present models from the Etherline Access series. The new switches have 4, 8 or 16 ports and fulfill Profinet Conformance Class B. The switch can distinguish whether the telegram is a request from the web, an FTP file transfer, a media stream or a Profinet telegram. If the transmission load is high, the switch can prioritize the important Profinet telegrams and prevent telegram delays from occurring.
This provides users with a compact and robust solution for a wide range of industrial applications. The switches for Profinet are part of Lapp's Etherline Access family, which already includes switches for industrial Ethernet, both managed and unmanaged. They have a short reconfiguration time, i.e. the time it takes for communication to be restored after an interruption. The switches are equipped with the latest diagnostic and redundancy procedures.
Lapp presents the first single-pair Ethernet cables under the name Etherline T1 Flex. Single-pair Ethernet cables are suitable for connecting individual sensors at field level in the factory. Instead of four wire pairs, they only have one, which saves time when connecting the wire pair. The company is currently working on a uniform connector standard together with other manufacturers and standardization bodies.
