As more and more functionalities migrate into the tools, assemblies or components to be manufactured, the challenges for machining become ever greater. After six record years in a row, the annual turnover of Andreas Maier GmbH & Co. KG (AMF) fell slightly again for the first time in 2019. At 47.3 million euros, the specialist for clamping, screwing and fastening recorded a decline of just under 5.5 percent.

With adjustable forces

Voltage for hybrid production

With the Zero-Point clamping system from AMF, set-up times can be reduced by up to 90 percent, reports the manufacturer. The clamping systems are used in Matsuura machining centers; these hybrid machines combine additive and subtractive processes.

Wireless communication for production

AMF wireless sensors are a new addition to Andreas Maier's product range. The company now offers wireless communication technology for manufacturing environments. The solution creates the basis for fully automated, unmanned production processes.

Clamping modules, such as those commonly used in machining production, cannot be used in additive manufacturing, as 3D printing has special requirements. With AMF zero-point clamping technology, the manufacturing process in 3D printing, including the subsequent follow-up processes, can be standardized to a high degree.

Less set-up time

The long-established company Kocks relies on AMF zero-point clamping systems for the production of components on a new machining center. This allows production times to be reduced by more than 80 percent in some cases.
