Gripper

Forces are adjustable

AMF is presenting a modular gripper with adjustable gripping forces. The gripping system for the machine tool has a shank interface and is inserted like a tool from the magazine.

This allows users to realize fully automatic workpiece changes during the machining process on a machine tool. Gripper jaws for different geometries and different workpiece weights enable a wide range of applications. The manufacturer promises longer machine running times with the gripper and unmanned machining, even in additional shifts. The gripper with Weldon shank is inserted fully automatically like a tool from the machine tool magazine. It can therefore move workpieces weighing up to eight kilograms onto the machine table and position them for processing. With three different inserts - finger, prism and universal - different geometries can be gripped securely. The prism-shaped gripper inserts can be rotated. The gripper is actuated via the machine spindle, either hydraulically with cooling lubricant or pneumatically with compressed air. The gripping forces of the jaws are infinitely adjustable - from 250 to 1,000 newtons in the hydraulic version and between 200 and 700 newtons with pneumatic actuation. pb
