Mounting platform

Modular mounting

Manz has presented the completely redesigned Light Assembly platform. The most important new functionalities include greater spatial flexibility of assembly and process steps thanks to the 3D lambda kinematics, standard carrier formats of up to 800 by 400 millimetres for larger workpieces to be processed and an expansion of the solutions for material feed and removal, which, in addition to 600 by 400 millimetre trays, also enables the use of blisters for small components.

Modules from the Light Assembly assembly and inspection platform are now also available as stand-alone systems. They can be integrated into existing non-automated production lines as an island-based or decoupled production solution. (Image: Manz)

With this revision, Manz is responding to increasing customer requirements, particularly from the electronics and automotive sectors. In particular, the compatibility of Manz systems with Bosch Rexroth's transfer systems was an important criterion for customers from the automotive sector. This is why the platform has a modular and scalable design. The individual modules for handling, screwing, laser welding and image processing are coordinated with each other in the light assembly platform. For companies that want to gradually automate labor-intensive manual production, individual Light Assembly modules will also be available in a stand-alone version in future.

These stand-alone systems can be integrated into existing non-automated production lines as an island-based or decoupled production solution. In addition to classic assembly processes, such as screwing, a process module can also handle newly integrated process steps such as laser welding or joining technologies such as bonding, potting or pressing - both in the standard version of the stand-alone system and the integrated platform for interlinked production systems. pb
