Planetary stages
New module for planetary stages
GWJ Technology is a manufacturer and provider of calculation solutions for machine and gear construction. The company has now added a new version of the planetary gear module to its web-based calculation solution eAssistant.
The "Planetary stage" calculation module enables the quick design and optimization of simple planetary stages including the load-bearing capacity according to various recognized calculation methods such as DIN 3990 Method B, ISO 6336 Method B or ANSI/AGMA 2101. The calculation of load spectra is also supported.
The company has added new options for the profile shift sum and for the distribution of profile shift factors. The "Full radius" option for the head shape of cutting gears has now also been added for hobs. Similar to the "Cylindrical gear pair" module, it is now possible to specify the profile shift factors or their sum and have the center distance calculated from this. It is also possible to decouple the center distance and the sum of the profile shift factors. This enables the calculation with "incorrect" center distance.
In addition to "own input" and the design for balanced specific sliding, the following new criteria are available for the design of the distribution of the profile shift factors: minimum sliding speed, maximum tooth root safety, maximum flank safety and maximum scuffing load capacity (integral). The designs can be made either for the sun/planet or planet/hollow gear pairing.
