Bosch Rexroth integrates Lantek Expert Inside into MTX

A new partnership makes cutting machines even more efficient: Bosch Rexroth, supplier of drive and control technology, and Lantek, supplier of machine-independent CAD/CAM solutions for sheet metal processing, are cooperating to make sheet metal cutting machines more economical. Bosch Rexroth is integrating Lantek Expert Inside into its MTX CNC system. The result can be seen at Euroblech.

The MTX from Bosch Rexroth is a CNC system for controlling machine tools with a wide range of machine concepts. According to the company, it is characterized by high computing power, adaptability to customer requirements, openness and extensive communication options.

In addition to a powerful CNC control system, it is also important for machine operators how efficiently and reliably new machining programs can be created. Bosch Rexroth and Lantek are now working together to ensure the economical use of sheet metal cutting machines, particularly in the area of workshop-oriented CNC programming. The Lantek Expert Inside nesting software integrates seamlessly into Bosch Rexroth's MTX and forms an efficient and reliable bridge for the path from design data to CNC programming.

"By integrating Lantek Expert Inside into our MTX, we are combining the most powerful CNC on the market with Lantek's extensive technological expertise and experience in the beam cutting market," says Hansjörg Sannwald, Head of Market and Product Management CNC Systems. "For the customer, this results in a practical, continuous process chain from the CAD data of the workpieces to the MTX machining programs."

The software can be used via the MTX control panel and brings extensive functions to the workshop: from importing or creating cutting contours, manual or automatic arrangement of contours on the sheet metal, definition of lead-in and lead-out strategies to automatic generation and simulation of CNC programs during machining.

Special functions provide information on the machine status, make operation easier and enable an immediate return to the MTX operating screen at any time. All screens are designed for touchscreen operation. Optionally, it is possible to use the identical programming environment with a virtual MTX on an office PC. Instead of machining on the real machine, the processes can also be meaningfully evaluated using a 3D simulation.
