AI in Manufacturing
Cybus Brings in Siemens Executive Stefan Schwab to Lead the Company
Cybus, a Hamburg-based provider of industrial data infrastructure for AI-driven manufacturing, is expanding its executive leadership team. Effective July 1, 2026, Stefan Schwab has been leading the company as co-CEO alongside co-founder Peter Sorowka. While Sorowka remains responsible for technology, product, and vision, Schwab is taking charge of the company’s commercial scaling and continued growth.
More than two decades of experience at Siemens
Schwab brings more than 20 years of experience from Siemens AG. There, he was responsible for business operations across the entire corporate lifecycle—from turnarounds and scale-ups to transformations and greenfield projects. His roles ranged from early-stage IoT businesses to established organizations with revenues exceeding $100 million. In these roles, he led units with diverse business models in the areas of hardware, project-based business, SaaS, and partner business—always with the goal of building recurring and scalable revenue. Building and leading international teams in the U.S., Europe, APAC, and India was also part of his responsibilities.
“Stefan Schwab brings exactly what our next chapter requires: the discipline to scale an enterprise business and the international experience to lead it,” says Peter Sorowka, co-CEO and co-founder of Cybus. “We immediately saw eye to eye on our vision and values—a complementary partnership from day one.”
Supporting Factories in Their Digital Transformation
According to the company, Schwab’s decision to make the move was primarily driven by the product, the team, and discussions with customers and investors. “The trust that manufacturers place in Connectware convinced me that Cybus will be the driving force behind ensuring that factories in Europe and beyond are prepared for the digital transformation,” says Stefan Schwab, Co-CEO of Cybus. “Software is moving from the cloud to the shop floor in the form of autonomous AI agents and Physical AI. As machines make decisions and act independently, the underlying data layer becomes a non-negotiable prerequisite: reliable, with clear governance, standardized, and in real time. That’s exactly where I see Cybus’s strength.”
According to Cybus, its Connectware data infrastructure is already in production use at some of the world’s most demanding industrial companies, including Porsche, Claas, and Blum.
