Wohlhaupter: Fine boring short clamp holder with digital display module

The ES Bore is a high-precision fine bore short clamping holder with integrated sensor technology for docking an external, digital display module 3E TECH+. By docking the external, high-resolution display module with a modern OLED display for diameter correction, for example, the cutting edge wear of the indexable insert used on the short clamping holder can be corrected in 1-µm diameter increments. Handling is much easier than with existing technologies, as the display module is attached to the tool without it coming loose during the adjustment process. The display is high-resolution, the display automatically orients itself to a vertical or horizontal position and retains the adjustment value even if contact with the tool is lost. The adjustment value is permanently stored in the fine boring short clamping holder or standard tool so that it always displays the previously set value of the corresponding short clamping holder or tool.

This is also the case when switching from one tool to another. A battery charge indicator conveniently shows the capacity of the battery via a battery symbol and a % display of the remaining capacity. Compared to analog short clamp holders without a digital display, the ES-Bore short clamp holder can be adjusted more quickly and accurately. For international use, the display can easily be changed from metric to inch by the customer. The user can also select different color combinations for the display and lettering for better readability and in case of problems with the legibility of individual colors. The display module's integrated battery is charged via a separate docking station with USB-C interface.

These are all features that are not available at all on analog tools and are also not available on competitor products or are only difficult to use. To save power, the display switches off 30 seconds after the last adjustment. All in all, the short clamp holder with the digital display module is simple, quick, safe and 100% reliable to use. And if the user has adjusted the short clamp holder without the display module being docked, this is not a problem, as the adjustment value is also registered and displayed with µm accuracy in this case when the display module is later attached to the short clamp holder. If the display module is used on several tools or short clamping holders, e.g. for in-line boring bars, the respective adjustment value of the corresponding short clamping holder is always displayed.
