CeMat is the leading international trade fair for intralogistics and supply chain management and will take place in Hanover this year from April 23 to 27. At the event, Matrix, Guardian Couplings, Stromag, Warner Electric and Warner Linear will be demonstrating the comprehensive drive technology expertise of Altra Industrial Motion Corporation.

CeMat showcases all the latest innovations in lifting equipment, cranes, forklift trucks, warehouse technology, logistics systems and software in five areas: Logistics IT, Warehouse and Conveyor Technology, Packaging, Cranes and Lifting Equipment, Industrial Trucks and Accessories. The main theme of CeMat 2018 is "Connected Supply Chain Solutions" at the interface of Logistics 4.0 and Industry 4.0.

Altra Industrial Motion, manufacturer of industrial drive components, will be showcasing the innovative solutions for Logistics 4.0 from some of its well-known brands. Visitors to the Altra stand will have the opportunity to see precision components for drives in a wide range of industries and special applications.

The power-off brakes in the ERD series from Warner Electric, for example, which hold the load securely in the event of a power or motor failure, as well as the electrically released emergency brakes in the Pan-Cake (PK) and Pan-Cake Captive (PK Captive) versions, are particularly interesting. The PK brakes are characterized by a special, non-adhesive friction material, which the company has developed specifically for the forklift truck industry. The special friction material prevents the brake from sticking, which often occurs with conventional friction materials and can make it very difficult to release the brake.

Warner Electric's brake expertise is joined by its sister brand Matrix with its 4EB and 4PMB series load wheel brakes. Both brake series are backlash-free and feature a compact design for forklift trucks that have to maneuver in extremely narrow aisles. The 4EB model is an electromagnetically released parking brake, available as a single-disc or multi-disc brake, while the 4PMB series comprises single-disc permanent magnet brakes as service and parking brakes.

The highlight of Stromag, a manufacturer of innovative drive components for the industrial drive train, is hydraulic brakes. Among other things, the SHD series of hydraulic disc brakes for use in tower and harbor cranes will be presented. The SHD emergency brake type offers resilience and reliability for the demanding environmental conditions of crane applications.

Warner Linear will also be represented on the Altra stand with a range of electromechanical actuators and actuator controls, ranging from easy-to-operate switch cabinet controls to modern, microprocessor-controlled, digital electronic models. The brand new linear actuators from the H-Track series, which are characterized by their high load capacity under extreme loads and excellent ingress and corrosion protection, are likely to attract particular interest. Guardian Couplings will be presenting a large selection of flywheel couplings. The company produces precision couplings for drive technology. am
