Communicator for frequency inverters
BMR has developed a special gateway to connect its SFU series to all common industrial fieldbuses: The SFU Communicator.
BMR develops and manufactures frequency inverters for asynchronous and synchronous high-frequency motor spindles for milling, grinding, drilling and dressing. The new gateway is installed in a slim and robust control cabinet housing and is connected to a BMR inverter via the existing RS232 interface. The bus is adapted via pre-configured, plug-in and interchangeable communication modules and the corresponding configuration file for the bus master. The SFU Communicator enables a plug-and-play solution for any fieldbus, even with already installed BMR frequency inverters.
The company promises that the combination of frequency inverter, Communicator and the DressView sensorless dressing system developed in-house, in conjunction with standard spindles for lead detection, will benefit users in a variety of ways. There are new perspectives in tool and process monitoring, for example the early detection of bearing damage in motor spindles and tool analysis.
