RFID scanners improve supply chain management

Digital technologies for capturing complex information simplify and shorten standard processes, and not just in the retail sector. With this in mind, Cipherlab has developed scanning solutions with RFID reading capability.

High-performance RFID systems (Radio-Frequency Identification) based on transponders and readers are paying off in more and more practical applications across all industries where the automatic and contactless identification of objects is required. The following three points illustrate the advantages of using RFID technology.

Optimized IoT connectivity and customer experience
The stock of products marked with an RFID tag can be checked quickly and easily. This allows sales staff to see at any time whether certain goods are in stock in the store or warehouse. In addition, data that can be retrieved via IoT applications can be used to provide further information about the product in real time, such as price details or warranty regulations.

Efficient supply chain and inventory management
Thanks to the seamless use of UHF RFID tags, all goods can be tracked from production, storage and transportation through to arrival at their destination. This gives the retailer the option of always keeping an eye on the entire supply chain. As soon as a product arrives at the warehouse, the item information can be collected and entered into the warehouse management system using Cipherlab's 1862 or RK25 series UHF RFID scanners. Thanks to the comprehensive RFID read and write functions, inventory information can be recorded quickly and reliably as an important part of the daily routine.

Protection against loss and fraud
The Cipherlab 2200 Series devices are able to accurately record each item's status using RFID data capture, a merchandise security system and a connection to the POS system. As soon as a customer buys a product at the checkout and the employee scans it at the till, subsequent fraud can be prevented. If this customer tries to exchange goods of a similar or identical type in the store that they did not buy there, for example, cashiers can easily detect this by scanning the label and connecting to the POS system. as
