Iscar presents many new developments
Iscar is using Intec/Z connect 2021 from March 2 to 3 as a platform to present its cost-effective solutions for turning, grooving, milling and drilling.
One of the new products is the Neodo S890 indexable insert. The sintered insert has eight cutting edges and an approach angle of 90° for good handling at cutting depths of up to 5 mm for economical roughing. The new Neofeed FFQ8 also has eight cutting edges. Users can use it for both high-feed milling and dynamic face milling. In all applications, the insert enables high metal removal rates as well as cost-efficient and stable machining. Also on show: The ER adapter for T-Face/T-Slot heads Neocollet and the new 08inserts for Logiq 4 feed milling cutters with a diameter from 50 mm.
Iscar is also presenting the new three-edged flat-head drill bits for the Logiq 3-Cham drill bodies. Users can work easily and without pilot drilling into the solid and drill holes with a flat base. This saves them a second work step and increases their productivity.
Deep hole machining is another focus of this year's trade fair appearance: Visitors can get to know the Sumogun-MNSNT modular deep hole drill in a solid solid material design with interchangeable drill heads and clamping sleeves. The company will also be presenting its brand new Soliddrill Extralong. The internally cooled solid carbide (solid carbide) drill consists of a specially developed PVD coating on ultra-fine grain. The drill with diameters from 3 to 10 mm allows for high precision when drilling holes up to 50xD.
The focus of the grooving tools is on user-friendliness and short set-up times. Iscar is expanding the Logic F-Grip range with the new 3D-printed Jetcrown. The Jetcrown enables the cutting set to be cooled from two sides. This improves the service life of the tool. In addition, the cutter carriers are now only clamped with one screw. This reduces the set-up time and enables parting off close to the spindle with maximum stability. ISCAR has developed the self-clamping Swissgrip cutting insert holder so that users can work with less material when parting off. This can accommodate cutting inserts in cutting widths of 0.6, 0.8, 1 and 1.2 mm. Despite the narrow width, these are equipped with a J-chip former for optimum chip removal.
Iscar has completely revised and expanded its Piccocut line for turning, grooving, threading, chamfering, form turning and axial grooving for internal machining of small components. For longer tool life and better chip control, the new cutting inserts have an internal coolant supply directly to the cutting edge. For greater stability and higher precision, Iscar has provided the new cutting inserts with a longer clamping surface and rotated it by 90 degrees.
