Bystronic takes over TTM Laser

Bystronic and the Italian specialist for laser-supported tube and profile processing TTM Laser have agreed on a 100 percent takeover of TTM Laser S.p.A. by Bystronic.

Today, Bystronic offers customers leading system solutions for cutting and bending sheet metal. The company has recently significantly expanded its technology offering for these process steps with new solutions for automation, warehouse connection and digital networking. In addition to automated and networked flat machining processes, supplementary tube and profile machining is also an important step for many customers in order to position themselves successfully against the competition. It is an advantage for customers to receive all these manufacturing solutions from a single source. A provider with a strong sales and service presence not only makes it easier for them to purchase and maintain, but also to successfully integrate and operate manufacturing solutions.

Since November 2017, Bystronic and TTM Laser have been supporting this customer need as part of a partnership that previously involved joint sales activities. The positive reactions from existing customers since then show that there is a great need for an even closer connection in many markets.

With the technologies from the Italian specialist, Bystronic is expanding its existing portfolio in the laser cutting processing step to include applications for tubes with diameters of 12 to 815 millimetres and for profiles. In addition, the solution portfolio has been expanded to include laser welding of large-format sheet metal.

TTM Laser is a successful technology company based in Cazzago San Martino (province of Brescia). The company, which has been active on the market since 2001, specializes in the development of 2D and 3D laser systems for cutting tubes and profiles as well as welding sheet metal in large formats. It has state-of-the-art production infrastructure and generated sales of around 14 million euros in 2017 with around 40 employees.

With the complete takeover by Bystronic, TTM Laser will continue to exist as a brand until further notice. This opens up an even broader range of technology and services from a strong partner. Fiorenzo Castellini, former CEO of TTM Laser, will step down from the management team. He will hand over his responsibilities to the remaining management team. The company headquarters in Cazzago San Martino, Italy, and the staff employed there will remain under the Bystronic umbrella.

Bystronic CEO Alex Waser emphasizes: "With the combination of Bystronic and TTM Laser, our customers gain access to a unique range of technologies and innovations for their sheet metal processing. TTM Laser's know-how and technology portfolio ideally complement Bystronic's existing manufacturing solutions with first-class tube and profile processing systems. The aim of this acquisition is to jointly drive forward innovative manufacturing solutions." kp
