3D printer

Additive manufacturing as an economical alternative

With the M800 industrial printer, Hahn+Kolb now offers a 3D printer with a multiple print head. According to the manufacturer, this enables precise multiple printing with up to four different materials with clean separation.

The possible component sizes reach up to 50 x 65 x 80 cm. The company presented the printer to its customers for the first time at Formnext in Frankfurt. It is specially designed for industrial companies that want to produce larger quantities reliably using rapid tooling and rapid manufacturing. Thanks to the special automatic nozzle changing system, four different plastics or colors can be applied. This reduces the amount of post-processing required to a minimum. Another special feature is the different nozzle sizes. Depending on the type of application, large nozzles speed up the printing process, for example when printing filling structures. The printer can also precisely apply water-soluble support material, which can be easily washed off the finished component. sw
