Fiber optic cable

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Fiber optic cables for Profinet networks

Fiber optic cables can handle long transmission distances and high bandwidths, are insensitive to electromagnetic interference and offer a high level of protection against eavesdropping.

Two new GOF fiber optic cables are now expanding Lapp's portfolio. The Hitronic GOF Duplex PNB is new. The breakout cable is suitable for control cabinet and structured building cabling within Profinet networks. Both the individual cables inside and the outer sheath are made of halogen-free and highly flame-retardant materials and reduce the risk of fire propagation, high smoke density and toxic fumes in the event of a fire.

Non-metallic aramid yarns provide strain relief, and the use of metal-free materials inside the cable means that no electromagnetic interference occurs. The new breakout cable is easy to assemble on site. It is available in GOF categories (OM1 - OM3, OS2).
