More space for energy chains

Mara Hofacker,

Divider system for order in a small space

To meet the heterogeneous requirements of Industry 4.0 applications, Tsubaki Kabelschlepp has developed the LE60/LE80 master cable carriers with the innovative TS3 divider system. Thanks to the reduced wall thickness of the divider system, more space remains in the interior.

According to Tsubaki Kabelschlepp, this results in space savings of 50 percent vertically and 37.5 percent horizontally compared to the previous chain. At the same time, the master cable carriers are easy to open and fill from all sides for fast, time-saving assembly.

The requirements for dynamic cable routing are becoming increasingly complex in the age of Industry 4.0. On the one hand, the installation space in machines is shrinking, and on the other, users want more space inside the energy chain. In addition, the cables differ greatly in terms of function, cross-section and sheath material. The LE60/LE80 master cable drag chains with the specially developed TS3 divider system can meet these requirements across the board.

The divider system combines a space-saving, flexible interior layout with quick opening options. This allows customers to maintain the necessary overview during assembly and packaging. With the help of the right dividers, the best results can be achieved in terms of space requirements, systematics and ease of assembly. For maximum flexibility, all individual parts can be flexibly combined and subsequently modified and added to. The particularly space-saving height dividers, which are only 2.5 mm narrow, are available in 33 different lengths and enable internal partitioning over 5 levels; lockable dividers guarantee a permanent, secure fit. Sliding dividers are possible within the compartments with fixed compartment widths of 10 to 108 mm. The entire divider system can be moved and fixed in cross-section.

The Master series are quiet and weight-optimized energy chains with a favourable ratio of internal to external dimensions. Thanks to the fixable dividers, they are also suitable for sideways arrangements and high lateral accelerations. The optimized Master chain types LE60 and LE80 have plastic stays, meaning that complete plastic versions of this chain are available. The master cable drag chain is available in different radii of curvature. The UMB connection elements of the Master series can be bolted downwards, upwards or in front of the head and offer strain relief options with Line-Fix clamps via the integrated C-rail. In combination with a cable tray or a guide channel and the Traxline cables from the product range, which are suitable for drag chains, the Master energy guiding chains become a ready-to-install system, which is also available as a pre-assembled complete Totaltrax system including connectors.
