Interview: Preparing the environment for innovation
Has everything already been invented in connection technology? Absolutely not, disagrees Georg Stawowy, Director of Technology and Innovation at Lapp.

Lapp has also had switches in its range for two years. The company has now expanded its range of active components for SPS 2019 to include additional switches for industry.

Every day, sensors around the world generate billions of pieces of data - and the trend is rising. Single-pair Ethernet (SPE) technology offers new opportunities to transmit these data streams reliably and quickly, even in the smallest areas of the machine.

Every day, sensors around the world generate billions of pieces of data - and the trend is rising. Single-pair Ethernet (SPE) technology offers new opportunities to transmit these data streams reliably and quickly in the smallest areas of the machine. Igus presented the SPE cable chainflex CFBUS.PUR.042 at SPS 2019.

The increasing networking and communication of system components requires larger volumes of data that must be transmitted reliably, even under difficult conditions.

Dirt, heat, oil, bacteria, millions of movements: Cables have to withstand a lot in industry. Lapp is bringing a number of innovations to the SPS that will continue to function even when other components have given up the ghost.

Hebotec has expanded its range. With a large clamping range of 17 to 30 millimetres, the HSK 17 - 30 covers the clamping ranges of two existing clamps (from 17 to 22 and from 23 to 29 millimetres) - without compromising the EMC properties.
Hygienic design connectors. In order to minimize the downtime of its pasta drying machines, a manufacturer needed a plug-in connection solution instead of a screw connection. Lapp fulfilled this wish with a connector made from a special copper alloy.

With Wireless Ex, Steute's Extreme division has developed a technology that facilitates the installation and operation of switchgear in potentially explosive atmospheres. It works via a low-energy radio protocol that is ATEX/IECEx-certified.

The dissipation and shielding of electromagnetic interference is very important for electrical I&C equipment. With the EMC-KVT-DS, Icotek has developed another product from the EMC sector.
Fresh fruit and vegetables for astronauts - that is the aim of the Eden ISS project. A greenhouse with special systems for growing plants has been set up in the Antarctic for this purpose. Right in the middle: Item profiles including connection technology for a shelving system.
