Ziehl-Abegg
Sebastian Wohlleben new Vice President Operations EMEA
Sebastian Wohlleben from Kupferzell will take on a key role at Ziehl-Abegg at the start of 2025: in addition to his current responsibilities, he will become Vice President Operations Central Europe.
In this position, he will be responsible for all of the company's European plants. In addition to his new role, Wohlleben will remain plant manager of the production site for drive technology and Global President Drives on an interim basis.
Sebastian Wohlleben's career path is closely linked to Ziehl-Abegg. He first came into contact with the company back in 2007 as part of a school project. After graduating from high school, Wohlleben began a dual course of study in mechanical engineering at Ziehl-Abegg, although he originally planned to study in Munich. "The chemistry between the supervisors and me was right straight away, and I was also impressed by the course," he recalls. He studied from 2008 to 2011, laying the foundations for his career.
He then started in process engineering in drive technology. His interest in international projects took him to China early on, where he supported the local branch. At the same time, he expanded his knowledge by studying for an MBA with a focus on production engineering at Chemnitz University of Technology.
In the years that followed, Wohlleben steadily took on more responsibility: from team leader to deputy head of department to head of the Drive Technology plant. He has been in charge of this plant since June 2022 and is thus responsible for the production of one of Ziehl-Abegg's central business units.
From April 2024, he also took over global product responsibility in the Drives product line. With his new position as Vice President Operations EM, the 36-year-old underpins his key role in the company and will make a significant contribution to Ziehl-Abegg's continued success story.
