SSI Schaefer founds startup SupplyBrain

With the founding of SupplyBrain GmbH, SSI Schaefer is investing in the expansion of its own technology and digitalization expertise in the field of intralogistics. The start-up, led by Managing Director Mario Traar, comprises a team of around 10 employees and is based at SSI Schaefer in Graz, Austria.

Various approaches for an optimized supply chain

The startup offers market-ready products with different approaches for optimizing the supply chain: with the help of a digital twin, companies can simulate alternative solutions and quickly identify which option would be the most efficient if, for example, employees are absent from picking due to illness or order structures change massively due to changing market conditions.

Another service module is the optimization of the maintenance strategy in the direction of predictive maintenance. AI-supported evaluation of the usage data of the system components is used to determine the optimum maintenance window.

Increasing energy efficiency is also one of SupplyBrain's services. Optimizing the use of components is particularly important in view of rising energy prices.

Peter Edelmann, CEO of the SSI Schaefer Group: "We are delighted that, as a startup incubator, we are now expanding SSI Schaefer's service portfolio with SupplyBrain to include rapidly available digital products and services. Consistent optimization of all processes and components strengthens the competitiveness of our customers and is an important step towards Intralogistics 4.0."

Mario Traar, Managing Director of SupplyBrain, sees great potential here: "The future of logistics is not a constant expansion and juxtaposition of different systems, but rather the consistent networking and seamless integration of additional solutions. SupplyBrain's products and solutions are an ideal complement to existing logistics software, such as SSI Schaefer Wamas software or SAP solutions."
