Scanlab: Leadership in a quartet

From 2025, the company will therefore be represented by the four managing directors Dr. Alexander Roth (CEO), Christian Sonner (CTO), Alexander Staudt (COO) and Dirk Thomas (CFO).

Georg Hofner joined Scanlab in 1995 as a sales engineer. Since 2002, he has been responsible for the constant growth and international success of the company as spokesman of the management board. For several years, he has also held the position of Spokesman of the Management Board of Scanlab's parent company, Tecinvest Holding. In order to devote his full attention to this task, he will hand over his position as Spokesman of the Management Board of Scanlab to Dr. Alexander Roth on January 1, 2025.

After studying physics and completing his doctorate, Alexander Roth gained industrial experience at companies such as Siemens and Giesecke & Devrient before discovering his passion for the photonics industry. After holding several positions at Rofin Baasel Lasertech, Coherent-Rofin and the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, he has been Managing Director of Coherent's Industrial Systems business unit for the past five years. "With Dr. Roth, we have gained an industry expert, an experienced manager and a personality that fits perfectly into the company. The last few weeks of working together have shown me that we have made the right decision," reports Georg Hofner. "I wish my successor every success in continuing our growth strategy and look forward to working with him in the future and to regular exchanges."

Alexander Staudt will be appointed Managing Director Operations in January 2025. He has been responsible for this area since 2023. The industrial engineer with 20 years of experience in electronics manufacturing was most recently plant manager and authorized signatory of the Würth Elektronik Group in the area of printed circuit board production. Digitalization and process optimization are of the utmost importance for the future success of Scanlab. These are topics that Alexander Staudt was already able to successfully implement at his previous employer.

Christian Sonner, Managing Director Development, and Dirk Thomas, Commercial Managing Director, are looking forward to setting the course for further growth together with their new colleagues and seizing the opportunities on the market together with the employees.
