Decentralized frequency inverters

Annina Schopen,

With a larger power range

Nord Drivesystems has developed the decentralized frequency inverters Nordac ON of the SK 300P series especially for the requirements of horizontal conveyor technology in intralogistics and warehousing. The inverters are characterized by an integrated Ethernet interface, IIoT capability, full pluggability and a compact design. The manufacturer has now extended the power range.

The frequency inverters in this series are part of the Nord modular system and can be combined with the manufacturer's motors. The Nordac ON type with a power range up to 2.6 kW was designed for applications with asynchronous motors. The Nordac ON+ is now designed for 3 kW and is suitable for combination with the IE5+ synchronous motor. The drives can be used over a wide speed range and enable a reduction in variants, for example in large intralogistics systems. The equipment also includes a diagnostic interface, M12 connections for sensors and actuators and, in the Nordac ON+, an additional protocol-based encoder interface that is protected against faults. The decentralized inverters can be used at temperatures from -30 to +40 °C. Various extensions are also available, such as integrated brake control and safety functions.
