Trade fair models illustrate future-proof solutions

At SPS in Nuremberg, Stöber will be presenting various models in Hall 3a, Stand 446, to show how users can benefit from safe, economical and high-performance solutions.

How can geared motors be maintained with foresight, how can they be connected to the Siemens Motion world and how does the designer benefit from the direct mounting of a rack and pinion drive? Stöber wants to answer these and other questions at the SPS in Nuremberg. To this end, the drive specialist has prepared various trade fair models. The message: As a partner, the company supports its customers in implementing sophisticated movements.

Among other things, Stöber will be using a trade fair model to demonstrate a feature for the predictive maintenance of geared motors. For this IoT solution, the user does not need any special expertise to evaluate the information and handle it accordingly. No additional sensors, cables, software or hardware components are required. Predictive maintenance from Stöber gives the user maximum transparency and unrestricted access to the measured data from their drive system. He recognizes trends and can act efficiently.

Digital twin in cooperation

In cooperation with Siemens, the drive specialist is using a digital twin to demonstrate its full connectivity to Siemens motion solutions. In order to be able to implement even complex applications, Stöber supports the drive connection via Profi drive and with Profi safe. The result is certified communication for the highest safety requirements (SIL 3, PL e, category 4). The model includes various components from the drive specialist, such as bevel gear and planetary geared motors, the SC6 and SI6 series drive controllers and hybrid cables. Siemens supplied the necessary software for providing the CAD data and for the actual simulation, which is shown on a separate display.

Precision in XL format

Stöber is also bringing the fourth generation of its PH series to Nuremberg: The large planetary servo gearbox impresses above all with its precision, low backlash and high tilting rigidity. Particularly in combination with the compact synchronous servomotors from the EZ series, users benefit from a geared motor with a lower mass moment of inertia - as the motor adapter is no longer required.

Stöber presents the XL precision gearbox in combination with a compact synchronous servo motor with holding brakes and an additional brake in a motor adapter. This brake solution is suitable for the construction of gravity-loaded axes. However, the system only becomes really safe with the SD6 drive controller and the SE6 safety module developed in cooperation with Pilz. This provides planners and designers with a system solution that meets the requirements of EN ISO 16090-1 for gravity-loaded vertical axes. All safety requirements also comply with EN 61800-5-2 and are certified to SIL 3, PL e category 4.

E stands for Economy

Another trade fair model consists of the second generation of PE series planetary geared motors and the economical Lean motor. Compared to the usual straight-toothed gearboxes, the helical gearing of this economy variant ensures low running noise and good uniformity. The user benefits from a solution that is both economical and powerful. In the second generation, the developers were able to increase the acceleration torque by 45 percent and the rated torque by 50 percent, thus further improving performance. The gearboxes are also lighter and more compact.

From full rotation to linear

Stöber will also be exhibiting a model with a rack and pinion drive from the ZV series, a bevel gear motor and an SD6 drive controller. The rack and pinion drives are based on case-hardened and ground pinions with high-quality gearing and precisely matched racks. The motor can be attached directly to the gearbox - without an adapter. This makes the drive unit lighter and more compact and therefore has a positive effect on dynamics and volume. Easy-to-use: The user receives a space-saving and ready-to-install system from a single source.

Quotation at the touch of a button via configurator

The Stöber Configurator enables users to find the right drive solution quickly and easily. The online tool can be operated intuitively via its clearly designed interface. Users can quickly design their individual solution in real time with just a few clicks. The software is also equipped with filters and comparison options. After configuration, all essential information is available for download; a quote can be requested immediately.
