Smart production with servo presses

Tox Pressotechnik is presenting the new electric manual workstation Tox-FlexPress Compact at Motek. At the trade fair, the experts will also be showing what servo press systems have to do with smart production.

Visitors to the Tox Pressotechnik stand will find out what networked production can look like. One highlight is the Tox-ElectricDrive Core servo press system. This is a combination of drive, controller and software that can do even more than its predecessor: The plug-and-play-capable system is integrated more quickly thanks to the fieldbus, collects data and therefore meets the requirements for predictive maintenance. Its lean control architecture also saves costs. With the integrated Tox-ElectricPowerDrive, a servomotor provides the optimum drive torque. A screw drive converts this directly into a linear movement that acts directly on the working piston. The efficient combination of maintenance-free motor and screw drive develops pressing forces of 0.02 to 1,000 kN.

At the heart of the Tox-ElectricDrive Core system is the Tox-PowerModule Core controller unit. This is a servo inverter and central intelligence of the drive control in one and has a fieldbus interface via which it communicates with the higher-level control system. The system is operated via the Tox HMI 3.1 software, which combines parameterization, operation, process monitoring, diagnostics and evaluation as well as quality data management. The Tox-PowerModule Core exchanges data with the Tox-EdgeUnit - a small box that is mounted directly on the servo drive. It collects all sensor data and forwards it in bundled form to the Tox-PowerModule Core. Tox Pressotechnik therefore refers to it as decentralized intelligence.

With the Tox-FlexPress Compact, the specialist is presenting a real eye-catcher: an electric manual workstation for the assembly and production of smaller components. Visitors to the trade fair will be able to see the functionality and modern design for themselves on site. The assembly workstation is fully electrically driven by Tox-ElectricPowerDrive servo presses and is available in four press force variants: 5, 10, 30 or 60 kN. A control cabinet integrated into the press ensures a compact design in a small space. Other features make the workstation extremely attractive: versatile connections, simple tool changes, seamless process monitoring and storage of quality data using the new Tox software, a work area accessible from three sides and safety thanks to an electric safety door.
