After entering the parameters for the application, the product finder shows the customer all suitable drylin drive technology solutions, including service life. Depending on the filter settings, the user can decide on the optimum linear module system for them and further configure and order it with compatible accessories such as the motor and controller.

Igus is now offering its new free drive technology configurator so that customers can quickly find the right linear module for their application. The online tool makes suitable product suggestions based solely on the application data, for example installation position, load, stroke length, speed and self-locking, which meet all of the customer's technical requirements. "The special thing is that we can use our test data from our in-house laboratory to make a service life statement for each linear module as well as the motor load in the individual application and display this online. This means that the customer can be sure that the module will function reliably and maintenance-free in their machine and system," explains Michael Hornung, Product Manager drylin International at Igus.

Further filter options, for example for special operating conditions such as high temperatures or use in the food sector, allow the selection to be further customized. Users can then further equip their module with the appropriate accessories as required. Everything is possible, from manual operation with a handwheel to the right motor and control unit. "By displaying and selecting only compatible products, the user can be sure that they will receive a linear module that is ready to connect straight away," says Michael Hornung. The price is automatically calculated and displayed in the application. This means that the impact of the selected options can also be weighed up in terms of cost. There is no time wasted on inquiries. In the final step, the configuration can be saved or forwarded, the parts list and technical information can be downloaded and the linear module can be ordered with a single click.

Small linear module for big tasks

With drylin drive technology, Igus offers linear modules for a wide range of applications. Be it for format adjustments in the packaging industry, for measuring in inspection and testing automation or for adjusting laser marking systems. At the heart of all systems are self-lubricating plain bearings made from Igus high-performance polymers. The miniature linear module is designed for the smallest installation spaces and runs on the slim drylin N linear guide from Igus.
