Five-axis machining center Acura 85
Powerful and compact
At the end of 2018, Hedelius Maschinenfabrik presented the new Acura 85 five-axis machining center for the first time at an in-house exhibition. Now the powerful milling machine can also be seen at Intec.
Visitors to the trade fair can get an idea of the dynamics, stability, performance and compactness of the machine. Despite the large traverse paths of 900 x 850 x 700 millimetres (x/y/z) and an 80-position tool magazine, the machining center has a compact design.
The rotary swivel table with bearings on both sides and the special traveling column concept guarantee the machine's stability. With an average clamping area of 850 x 750 millimetres and a clamping weight of up to 1,000 kilograms, the latest member of the Acura family is also designed for larger tasks, particularly in tool and mould making.
All relevant components such as hydraulics, pneumatics, central lubrication, switch cabinet and cooling units are accessible from the right-hand side of the machine for easy maintenance. Once again, the focus of this machining center is on the user. The faceplate of the rotary/tilt table has been moved to the front for better accessibility and the table height is around 845 millimetres.
The tool magazine is accessible from the front and can be set up during machining. The cabin roof also opens fully with the machine door for unrestricted crane loading and also prevents cooling water from dripping down. Like all Hedelius machining centers, the Acura 85 can also be equipped with a standby tool magazine; this means that up to 190 additional tools are available in addition to the 80 tools in the main magazine. pb
