Roboxpro at RS Components
3D printer for rapid prototyping
RS Components has added the new CEL Roboxpro 3D printer for additive manufacturing to its range. It offers the performance features of high-end devices and exceptionally high printing speeds.
The dual extrusion machine is primarily aimed at professional users, including electronics and mechanical engineers or technicians who require advanced rapid prototyping capabilities in the development process in order to quickly implement their product concepts with durable, water-soluble substrates that can be used in engineering.
RS points in particular to the new Roboxpro's large interlocking door, which protects the printer's fully enclosed build chamber with HEPA and activated carbon filtration filters to prevent unnecessary disruption or damage to ongoing printing projects. At the same time, this shields users from potentially harmful fumes, making the Roboxpro suitable for professional or industrial environments and ideal for educational institutions such as universities, colleges or schools.
Using the Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) 3D printing process, the Roboxpro's patented needle valve technology sets it apart from other models in a crucial way, making the 3D printer a fast and efficient dual extrusion machine. The dual nozzle printing capability means that the device can print in two different colors or in two different materials at the same time.
As with the Robox 3D printers of the previous generation, the print heads of the Roboxpro devices are also easily interchangeable and can be upgraded. This allows extended functions such as paste extrusion to be implemented at a later date. The device is designed for 1.75 millimeter filaments and can process a wide range of materials such as PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU, PC and nylon.
With FFF extrusion die
The Roboxpro is also the first 3D printer to feature an Olsson Ruby nozzle, an FFF extrusion nozzle designed to print highly abrasive materials. Its tip is made of ruby, which makes the nozzle much more durable compared to other nozzles, and it can print longer with demanding, resilient materials such as Kevlar or tungsten-filled ABS and glass or carbon-filled nylons before the nozzle shows signs of wear, and in many cases the ruby tip also results in an improved surface finish.
Other special features of the Roboxpro include a build envelope of 210 by 300 by 400 millimetres and a wide range of layer resolutions from 0.5 millimetres for ultra-fast printing to layers as thin as 0.05 millimetres (50 microns), and the Roboxpro has onboard controls with an integrated, full-color five-inch touchscreen user interface. This allows the user to change print settings, calibrate the worktop and manage the connection via Wi-Fi, Ethernet or USB.
The Roboxpro also has a climate-controlled installation space with a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air filter) filter and an activated carbon air cleaning system, while the adaptive leveling of the worktop makes manual calibration unnecessary. The worktop is easy to replace. Compatible with Windows, Apple and Linux operating systems, the Roboxpro is also available with the Robox Automaker software. RS supplies the printer in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions. as
