With the Simufact Additive 2020 release, Simufact is expanding the scope of the software beyond manufacturing simulation.

Now users can not only virtually design and optimize the printing process, but can also assess the costs of the printing process for individual parts or assemblies. Printing process costs can be estimated, as can the costs for reworking, for example cutting, milling and grinding.

Interoperability along the process chain has also been improved. For example, an interface to Materialise was implemented via the 3MF format. The format also enables reliable data exchange with third-party software. A Renishaw QuantAM programming interface has also been integrated.
