Formnext 2025
Large-format metal printing for industrial applications
Gefertec is presenting its latest developments in the field of Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) at this year's Formnext. The process pushes the boundaries of 3D printing of metallic components. With WAAM, large and complex components can be produced quickly, efficiently and in a resource-saving manner.
WAAM is of particular strategic importance for industries such as energy, aerospace, rail and toolmaking. At the stand, Gefertec will be showing representative examples of component projects that have already been realized, including a 700 kg impeller for turbines, an emergency exit frame for aircraft, a toolprint for toolmaking and a wobble damper console for the rail industry. In addition, a load collar, part of a high-performance turbine, from Gefertec at the VDMA stand will serve as an example of the capabilities of German mechanical engineering.
The demand for large-format additively manufactured metal components is growing steadily," says Johannes Zuckschwerdt, Managing Director of Gefertec. "At Formnext, we will be showing how WAAM can already be implemented ready for production today."
Gefertec is part of the joint stand of the capital region. Gefertec's presence at the trade fair not only underlines its own technological leadership role, but also the strategic importance of Berlin as a center for industrial additive manufacturing.
Together with 15 other exhibitors, including the TU Berlin, the Amber network and the Fraunhofer IPK, the entire value chain will be visible: from research and development, software and hardware to material suppliers and global networks.
