Threaded lifting pin with rotating shackle

The threaded lifting pins from Erwin Halder are suitable for lifting and transporting loads quickly and easily. The new variants with rotating shackle are also trend-setting in "sloping cases".

"We presented our threaded lifting pins for the first time at EMO 2019 and met with a very positive response," says Bernd Janner, Sales Manager at Erwin Halder KG. The load lifting devices are quick and easy to install and use existing threaded holes. This simplifies the process and saves time when changing loads. But even tried and tested products can be improved: That's why Halder has developed the new threaded lifting pins with rotating shackle.

Alignment always in the direction of pull

But what is better about it? "To understand where the advantage of the new threaded lifting pins lies, you first need to know how they work, which is the same for all variants: at the lower end of the high-strength pin are self-locking threaded segments of the respective size. They transmit the force positively. To unlock the elements, the user simply has to press the aluminum button below the movable shackle. The bolt is then simply inserted into the existing threaded hole. When the button is released, the threaded segments engage in the thread of the component to be supported. This secures the load-bearing element," says Bernd Janner, explaining the intuitive handling of the efficient load-bearing aids. To release the threaded load-bearing pin, simply press the button again. To prevent this from happening at the wrong moment, a safety bar on the shackle prevents the button from being pressed accidentally.

Once the threaded lifting pins have been installed in the component and lifting slings, for example, have been attached to the shackle, load transportation can begin. Whether straight or at an angle - the rotating shackle always aligns itself in the direction of pull when lifting, without the pin turning. Kilian Schneck and Andreas Kühlwein, engineers from Halder's development team, explain: "The new variant really comes into its own when pulling at an angle: Thanks to the bearing ring with the maintenance-free, temperature-, chemical- and oil-resistant plain bearing bush, the shackle can rotate freely around the pin. As only the shackle and not the bolt itself rotates, the lifting gear remains firmly screwed into the thread and the component can be lifted and transported safely."

High load capacity and maximum safety

"The CE-compliant threaded lifting pins are not only easy to handle, but also extremely resilient. Depending on the version, a maximum load capacity of up to 1,850 kg is possible - with 5 times the safety factor. The high break resistance has been certified by TÜV Süd," adds Bernd Janner.

Halder offers threaded lifting pins in two material variants. The bolt, bearing ring and shackle are made of either manganese-phosphated heat-treated steel or precipitation-hardened stainless steel. The spring and threaded elements are always made of stainless steel. The high-quality materials ensure good corrosion protection and high temperature resistance. The stainless steel version is also weather-resistant and therefore suitable for outdoor use without any problems.

Erwin Halder KG supplies the load-bearing elements from stock in all standard metric thread sizes (M8-M30) and in standard inch sizes (½"-1"). Depending on the size, the threaded load-bearing pins have a small or large shackle.
