Technology and sustainability award
Igus presents the manus awards
Four projects receive the international award from Igus for their creative use of lubrication-free plastic plain bearings.
Igus presented the manus awards 2023 for the eleventh time at the Hannover Messe. The awards recognize companies that improve the technology of their applications with lubrication-free bearings and make them more sustainable. The golden manus award 2023 was presented to J&M Manufacturing. The company from the USA has developed a plow with a "para-linkage" coulter. For their system, the designers use polymer plain bearings from Igus in all pivot points of the share. The bearings are not only corrosion-free in contact with liquid nitrogen fertilizer and reliably withstand oscillating movements. They also enable low-friction dry running without lubricating oil.
High-pressure cleaners in industry are often very heavy. Aufratech provides relief. The French company won the silver manus award 2023 for its EXO N exoskeleton. At the heart of the skeleton is a control system that allows the user to guide the attached lances with a straight back. Many functions are grouped around an aluminum shaft with linear plain bushings and corrosion-free polymer plain bearings from Igus.
Fiedler Maschinenbau und Technikvertrieb was delighted to receive the bronze manus award 2023. The company has built a high-pressure cleaner that vehicles can use to clean dirty roads, sidewalks and squares. The centerpiece is a double sponge bar mounted in front of the vehicle. The engineers use corrosion-free and wear-resistant profile guides and housing bearings from Igus for the telescopic function.
Lubricating oil and agriculture are a difficult combination. Rockinger Agriculture has therefore developed a lubrication-free ball coupling and won the green manus award with this sustainability idea. am
