Printed circuit board production

More precise depth processing

In the production of printed circuit boards, deep machining processes require an intelligent and intuitive control system. In addition to its CNC controls, Sieb & Meyer is therefore launching the SLM software package on the market.

In PCB production, the trend towards an ever-increasing functional integration density of assemblies is continuing. Increasing signal speeds require a clean PCB design and high production quality. Ever greater process accuracy is required, especially in deep drilling and milling, and the number of quality-determining parameters is increasing. Relevant production data must also be recorded and saved for analysis and quality control.

In order to meet these requirements, Sieb & Meyer has developed the optional SLM (Smart Layer Manager) software package for the CNC 84.00 control generation. On the one hand, the aim was to meet the increasing demands of the market for deep machining. This applies, for example, to processes such as backdrilling or residual web milling. On the other hand, the focus was on an innovative implementation that would continue to inspire users in the years to come. A third, increasingly important aspect is usability: "Despite the extensive functionality, the operator should be able to set up the necessary process parameters easily and comprehensibly," explains Holger Dornau, Head of Sales and Marketing CNC at Sieb & Meyer.
