Embedded World
Solutions for more security and trust
Wibu-Systems will be exhibiting at Embedded World from April 9 to 11 at a joint stand with OSADL, the Open Source Automation Development Lab. Wibu-Systems, provider of solutions for software protection, licensing and security, will be presenting a range of new developments there.
In cooperation with its partners, the spectrum ranges from digital identities for the life cycle of electronic components to memory cards with software protection and monetization functions to the presentation of the flagship store for Hilscher's OI4 community.
Protection for digital identities
In times of increasing cyber threats and challenges in the supply chain, trustworthiness is particularly important, especially when direct monitoring is not possible. Over the past three years, Wibu-Systems has led the VE-ASCOT research initiative, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, together with partners such as Siemens, Infineon Technologies, Schölly Fiberoptic, Revisionone, the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology SIT, the Kastel Security Research Labs at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the University of Bielefeld. The consortium has set itself the task of advancing data security in embedded systems, uncovering vulnerabilities and developing comprehensive security guidelines,
The aim is to pave the way for the next generation of secure and robust embedded technologies. The Chains of Trust protection mechanism developed as a result meticulously records the production, commissioning and specific properties of electronic components using cryptographic means. This enables tampering, anomalies and forgeries to be detected. By integrating its CodeMeter hardware technology, Wibu-Systems provides concrete evidence of component integrity, facilitates remote verification and ensures validation of component trustworthiness. Representatives from the research collaboration will be at the booth for demonstrations.
Trustworthiness of intellectual property
With the increasing use of software in everyday life, the protection of intellectual property (IP) is becoming a key issue for companies. With CmReady, Wibu-Systems presents a new solution that repositions the areas of software protection and licensing for memory card providers and their customers. According to the company, memory cards equipped with CmReady become secure anchors for software licensing and offer developers of embedded software and IoT devices.
CodeMeter: A technology for secure apps
With the flagship store for the OI4 community, Hilscher has broken new ground and established a marketplace where open standards and tools from various solution partners come together. With its CodeMeter technology, Wibu-Systems wants to play a key role in shaping this new market by offering a secure, open and compatible solution. Even in containerized environments, protection and monetization can be realized as usual.
Stefan Bamberg, Director Sales and Key Account Management at Wibu-Systems, is looking forward to welcoming visitors to the trade fair: "Our participation in Embedded World 2024 is more than just a showcase; it is a sign of Wibu-Systems' ongoing commitment to advancing the topic of cyber security."
